Years have gone by since I last watched an anime series as attentively as I did Blood+! Highly recommended material for those interested in the "vampire" (loosely use here) genre. The reason I say loosely is because Blood+ isn't really about vampires. Rather, it's about "chiropteran", bat-like hematophagous (bloodsucking) monsters à la "Blood: The Last Vampire" style. Your main character is Saya Otonashi, a chiropteran-hunter who uses her blood to kill the beasts with the aid of her faithful "chevalier" (knight/cavalier) Haji.

The story goes on, but I can't really say anything without spoiling it for those who are interested. You might want to check out the manga too, which is great.
